I’M DONE WITH BACKYARD. TRIZZ THE RIPOFF🤡
Welcome to the unpleasant palace!

Welcome to the unpleasant palace!
My name is Tommy_Pickles, and for a long time I was one of the top buyers in Backyard and on the Whatnot app.
I supported streams of all kinds. I spent real money. I bought into breaks. I tipped. I participated. I wasn’t there just chasing dollar value. I’m a real hobbyist. I like cards because they’re cool, because they mean something, and because the hobby is supposed to be fun.
For a while, I genuinely enjoyed being in Backyard streams and watching their breaks.
Then I felt like I was taken advantage of.
On September 2, 2022, I bought into a division for almost $3,000. I ended up giving my spot away to Joe0311, who was in the break. That division hit a Gold Christian McCaffrey Kaboom /10, numbered 2/10. My friend Joe was extremely excited about that card because Christian McCaffrey is one of his personal collection guys.
Months went by.
Then, about five months later, I found what appeared to be that same card listed on eBay. It was a 2021 Christian McCaffrey Absolute Kaboom Gold /10, graded PSA, listed for $2,000 or best offer.
That’s when I reached out to Backyard and explained my concerns.
About an hour later, the card was removed from eBay. Maybe that was a coincidence. Maybe it wasn’t. But what bothered me is that it apparently took me finding the card myself and raising the issue before I got any real answers.
I was told they checked the shipping footage and confirmed the card had been shipped to the wrong person. That explanation may be true, but it still left me frustrated. A card that should have gone to the person from the break ended up somewhere else, showed up for sale months later, and I had to push for answers.
But honestly, that wasn’t even the part that bothered me the most.
What really bothered me was what happened after.
From my perspective, Trizz decided to make it personal. Instead of simply addressing the issue professionally, I felt like he started a smear campaign against me. I believe he messaged people I knew, gave them his “side,” talked badly about me, and even offered people freebies to try to pull them in.
That felt less like business and more like high school bullying.
My reaction may have looked childish at times. I get that. But my frustration came from feeling ignored, dismissed, and then attacked for asking questions. I’m not some random person who never supported the hobby. I was one of the people actually spending money and supporting these streams.
I also don’t believe I’m the only person who has felt this way. A lot of people in the hobby have felt cheated, taken advantage of, or treated like they don’t matter once there is a problem.
That is what I think is wrong with the hobby.
This is why I’m speaking out. Not because I hate cards. Not because I hate breakers. Not because I want attention. I’m speaking out because the hobby should be better than this.
Collectors deserve transparency. Buyers deserve answers. And people spending real money deserve to be treated with respect when something goes wrong.
I used to support Backyard.
Now I don’t.
And if sharing my experience keeps even one person from feeling the way I felt, then it’s worth saying.
Don’t support Backyard.
